The Store In the Middle of The Town

Assalamualaikum and good morning everybody!

I hope all of you doing fine and have a great day.Today we want share about one of the stationery shops at Seberang Jaya.On that day we decide to find a stationery shop at Seberang Jaya to print and photostate our assignment.Actually it only takes 9 minutes from UiTM Permatang Pauh to Seberang Jaya.We use Grab Car to go there and it cost us RM 8.So we leave UiTM at 12.50 P.M and we arrive there around 1.00 P.M and we take a lunch at Nasi Kandar Makbul .After we filled up our stomach with delicious food , we go find the shop.

After a while we found the shop named Muhibah Stationery located at the end of the corner and near to the Maybank. At the drop of a hat, we enter the shop.Our first impression is “This shop is so cold!” and we were so happy because the weather out there is very hot like microwave and we are in there,can you imagine how hot the weather is?.After that we browse the shop , we found a lot of vintage stuff.Futhermore, we printed our assignment at that shop.

The owner of the shop is Ooi Min Joo,at first we heard his name ,we actually thought he was a Korean but he is actually a Chinese and he age is 40’s.He has a huge muscle and fit body .That made we afraid to ask a question to him but he is very talkactive person. After we introduced ourself to him,we asked some question about his business.With his chinese’s slang he said “Saya sudah bukak ini kedai dekat 7 , 8 tahun jugak lah”  means that he had run the business around 7 or 8 years and he also started the business on 2010.Mr. Ooi Min Joo got the idea from his boss and he told us before he opened his own shop,he work as a  staff at his boss stationery shop  located at Bukit Mertajam.After gaining a bucket of knowledges he decided to started his own business at Seberang Jaya.

  In addition, to started his own business, the capital is around RM 80,000 including rental, operation, equipment, stock and overhead cost.When we asked how many employees in this shop, He said “4 olang saja lagi pun ini kedai kecik saja tak perlu ramai-ramai” , he only take 4 employees to work with him.He had mention that his shop named  Muhibah Enterprise,the interesting part is there a group of company that can use MUHIBAH name to their shop.First thing come in my mind when  see MUHIBAH’s name we thought it was engineering company,because the engineering company name is “MUHIBAH ENGINEERING (M) Berhad and he said to us “no actually we share the MUHIBAH name “. There a few outlet only in Pulau Pinang as you can the picture below.

The stock at the shop will be renew once in a month.The stationery shop open almost everyday started from 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.Mr. Ooi said that to survived in business located at the city is not easy for him.Its like a ship in the middle of thunderstorm. He has also gone through the times of business collapse but he strives to save his business.We so inspired by his fortitude!

We had an opportunity to asked the customer who have buy a thing in this shop.Her name is Aliya,19 years old and she is students of electrical at Politeknik Seberang Perai.She came to this shop to buy a test pad, mahjong papers and a pen for her course work.She said that even the shop is small,but its has a lot of stuff.The services from their employees also very satisfying .If you had a problem to find the stuff,they will assist you to find it.Aliya would give 8/10 for the services.She said if the stuff in Mr. Ooi’s shop are in neat and tidy state,she can give 10/10!.

The time does not allow us to stay at the shop.Before we leave , we have a picture with the owner as a reminder.We hope that Mr. Ooi Min Joo will success for his business.Thumb up!
